Our dear friend Denise Greig's son Darius Vinson suffered an unspeakable tragedy, he was the victim of a drowning accident in the Delaware River that has left his family, friends and this community devasted.
His life was cut short too soon at the young age of 26. Darius L. Vinson, 26, of Far Rockaway, New York, went missing Tuesday in the Delaware River and his body was recovered on August 19th.
Darius was a charismatic and determined young man. He recently graduated college and was looking forward to working hard to promote justice. He is survived by his wonderful mother Denise, his grandmother and his girlfriend Raven. Nothing could have prepared any of us for this.
As his family and friends, we are profoundly grateful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we have recieved from the community. Many of you have asked how you can help. We are raising money to help Denise and the family with their expenses over the coming weeks. We want to relieve some financial pressure and give this grieving family the only thing they really need right now - time to greive and heal.
