Meet Gizmo, my constant companion since the day I saved him from being street pizza on Valentine's Day, 2013. He is the Fry to my Leela, Santa's Little Helper to my Bart, the Spunky to my Rocko, the Chewie to my Han, and the Gizmo to my Billy Peltzer. He was indeed named after Gizmo the Mogwai because when he heard Gizmo singing to Billy, he sat up on his hind legs like a meerkat while staring at the tv.
He saved my life at a time I was feeling very low, His mere presence made me feel like I could be in this world and whenever I was feeling low, he would do silly tricks to make me laugh. He gives me a little kiss every morning to let me know he was to go outside and when I'm working, he'll kiss my arm and lay right beside me.
Gizmo is unlike any chihuahua I've ever met and while I know everyone says that about their dogs, I've had strangers tell me he is special.
Gizmo is in desperate need of dental and hip surgery, but the vet said his mouth is top priority and very possible they'll take the teeth from left top side of his jaw. Because he's 8lb and 13 years old (I estimated his age at 12 months when I found him) surgery is a little more complicated, and the estimates are steep, I'm asking for a little more to cover for medication, food (in case he can't eat his current food), and if any complications occur.
I'm 54, he's 13, and we're the perfect old farts. I'd like him to stay around a few more years and anything you can do to help (even $1) would be greatly appreciated!
I love you, I honestly love you. Thank you so much!
