I'm Ryan Donnelly, son of Brian Donnelly, who has recently been diagnosed with stage four-pancreatic cancer. This was a shock to my entire family and me. My first reaction was to just cry because it felt like the world around me was crumbling. My heart felt like it was torn out of me the instant I heard the words "pancreatic cancer." My dad has been my sister (Kristen Donnelly) idol and mine as well our whole entire life. He made me the man I am today. He made me realize that it's better to give than take. He made me realize that when things get bad, everything will eventually end up being okay. But most importantly he made me realize to live life to the fullest because you only live it once. My dad is the nicest and most genuine person that you could meet. He's always friendly; family, friends, and co-workers love him. I bet I couldn't find a single person to say something bad about my dad. He's always smiling, he's always working hard, and he never fails to make anyone of us laugh. Now that he's diagnosed with pancreatic cancer you think that might change a bit...well your wrong. He's still the same man that he has been my whole entire life. He is the glue that keeps my family together. Once he heard the news, his first thought was making sure my mom, Kristen, and me were okay. That right there is the type of guy that should be the last person to go through this challenge, but he is not alone. We have a great support group that is getting us through the days little by little. In the next few days he will be starting chemo. His insurance covers some of it, but we will still be receiving bills. Sadly this disease has prevented my dad from staying at the job he loves to do. Any donation that we would receive would bring a smile to his face causing a chain reaction of smiles on our face. I want to thank you for your time and any donations that are made.
