Meet Mike & Becky Bousquet. They are my neighbors & I met Becky when I was looking for childcare. Becky has cared for my children for over 6 years. She has been a second mother to my children. The love, care & guidance she has given them when I am not there is indescribable. Not only that, she & Mike are great neighbors in always ready to lend a hand, bring food to someone in need, and very active in their church and community.
This past summer Mike was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. He has started chemotherapy treatment & will be receiving a stem cell later this November. Unfortunately due to the physical nature of his job, Mike is currently out on disability. His disability will run out in the middle of his recovery. This in itself is a very trying & stressful to deal with, but they just received more bad news. Becky was told during Mike's recovery that she will need to shut down her home-based daycare since the children going there could bring potential illnesses in the home. While Mike's immune system is recovering she cannot operate her business for at least 3 months. This was devastating news. Becky has had many of our children in her care for many years. She has grown attached to them & them to her. Obviously even more devastating is during a time of great stress she now has to shut down her business & try to figure another way to bring income in to the home when she should be focused on taking care of her husband, herself & their daughters.
We mothers who have either had/have children in Becky's care would like to raise money for this family that has become a part of ours, that are wonderful neighbors and members of our community. But their needs are great so we are hoping there may be more kind-hearted & generous people who would like to help out this family in need.
Thank you for taking the time to read this & any assistance you can lend.
