Hello, and may I tell you a bit about why I have started a fund for myself at this time? On September 17, 2014 I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that has advanced into my bones - originating from the breast cancer I battled 4 years ago.
At this point I have not been given the opportunity to undergo chemotherapy until the doctors find out that the cancer is spreading into my organs. Until such time they want me to strictly concentrate on the quality of my life instead of quantity. I have a very hard time hearing and accepting that, especially when there are treatments that I can utilize to help with the latter. Since I have been diagnosed as having stage 4 MBC the options for "medical" choices within the traditional system of treatments are very limited and that is why I am asking for your help.
I am kindly asking for your support with some of the cost of complementary treatments, transportation to and from these treatments, and unforeseen medical expenses during this time. Also, having 2 blood disorders and other medical challenges not only compromise my immune system but also make my fight with cancer (this time) even more serious. Having access to these therapies will not only extend my life but will also give me hope, pain relief, and a much better quality of life in the process.
This will also allow me to spend more cherished moments with our 4 beautiful children and instill in them that we need to also help others that are less fortunate than ourselves (even if it is not in a monetary fashion). I have been passionate about volunteering with others fighting this disease for several years and I strongly believe that my days helping others are not quite over yet.
