This account has been created for our brother William (Billy) Englert. My name is Jeanne Englert-Sachkowsky, and my sister’s name is Judy Englert-Jones. Our brother Billy is a proud father of 16-year-old twins Aleks and Sofia Englert. He currently resides in Rochester New York.
Billy suffered his first stroke last November and was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.
We were very fortunate to bring our brother home last November and work very hard to have him recovery fully from his first stroke. He was able to go home to Rochester in January of 2021. He was able to go back to work and started to recuperate from his illness and started to get back on his feet financially to support himself and his children.
Our brother has worked his entire life in the restaurant industry starting in the kitchen and advancing up to a general manager. In April of 2021 he lost his job and due to the COVID disaster with the unemployment system has not been able to secure his unemployment which has created a huge financial burden on him.
From November 2020 to date our brother has had 4 strokes. His last stroke occurred last Saturday October 30, 2021. He was rushed to Rochester General after laying on the floor for 7 hours after the stroke. This stroke has incapacitated him. His is currently in the ICU at Rochester General Hospital and has no mobility of his right side of his body. He had complication swallowing and secreting his own fluids and is currently on a ventilator. His doctors think this stroke was due constricted blood vessels in his brain and was not a result of his Diabetes. Which adds more complications to his road to recovery. However, the doctors believe because he is so young 49 years old he will be able to recover somewhat. I say this with a heavy heart there is a possibility of him being bedridden, or in a wheelchair but there is hope he may walk again. If anyone knows my brother they know he is a strong man and will fight to recover to the best of his ability, but time if of the essence and we have to be very aggressive to get him on his road to recovery so he can still maintain a better quality of life.
Our brother is unfortunately without family in Rochester, besides for his twins who are the light of his life and deserve to have their dad with them as they graduate high school this coming June. We need to bring Billy home to New Jersey where my sister and I reside so we can help in any way possible in his recovery. Rochester is 5 hours away and transporting him back to New Jersey is complicated to say the least. He will most likely need to be Medi Vax by helicopter the median cost of a helicopter air ambulance flight is $10,200. We are unsure if he can be transported by ambulance at this time but need to react as quickly as possible to get him home while attempting to keeps his place in New York in hopes he will return to where he calls home one day. Anyone who knows Billy knows that he is a vibrant man with an unbelievable heart and sense of humor. We want him to be able to live his best life.
This GoFundMe is being set up in hopes of being able to help keep the bills paid, and to help pay his medical bills as well. This would take a huge financial burden off his shoulders and allow Billy to focus on his recovery without worrying about how he will survive and provide for his children.
If you can help in any way, please do so and help alleviate some of the financial burden he has occurred and will continue to occur. Please consider donating. If you cannot donate, please share this GoFundMe as much as possible. Along with needing donations, we need all the prayers we can get on Billy making a full recovery. We all know how powerful prayer can be, so please send as many prayers as we possibly can get and help him on his road to recovery!
