2016 Medical Mission Trip to Uganda

Hi Ya'll,
Greetings from Texas! My name is Hannah Harrell, and my school community also knows me as Scout. I’m a sophomore at Abilene Christian University studying Social Work with a minor in Psychology. Throughout this last year, I have felt a pulling on my heart and spirit to return to Uganda, to a country and a people I fell in love with nearly 2 years ago. I have spent time in prayer, earnestly asking God for doors to open so I may return to Uganda.
Just recently I became aware of an opportunity to serve in Uganda again. Lord willing, on July 15th I will be returning to the villages of Kampala and Rakai with a team I served alongside in Uganda in March 2014. In these villages, the team and I will be ministering to the Ugandans in a variety of ways, including medical, dental and vision clinics. Along with those clinics, we will add either door-to-door evangelism, children’s ministry (VBS), Mercy Ministry (feeding the poor), teacher training, or ministry within the poorest villages, known as the slums. I was fortunate to participate in several of these ministries two years ago and I would love to experience these ministries again. Being able to provide sight for villagers who haven’t seen clearly in years was the most amazing feeling. Playing soccer in the pouring rain with young boys stuck in the slums was an experience I will never forget.
Returning to Uganda this summer to provide these services and help spread God’s love to this very special culture is my mission journey for 2016. However, getting back won’t be easy. As a college student it can be quite difficult to completely fund a trip to Africa.
I am walking in faith, hope and constant prayer that God will provide funds. Our team deadline is May 31st. Meeting this goal will enable me to pay for plane tickets, food, housing, and medical supplies. Any donations you can make will not be wasted. Every dollar of any donation received will go straight toward God’s work in Uganda. I strongly believe that God is calling me to missions, and more specifically, missions to Africa. Uganda holds a special place in my heart and I wholeheartedly trust God and his vision for me. I’m extremely excited for this trip and I will be beyond blessed to receive any donations the Lord places on your heart. Prayers would also be GREATLY appreciated as I prepare to serve, love and teach the people of Uganda.
