Abandoned Pythons desperately need treatment.
Donation protected
Some of you may have seen the articles in the press regarding the Reticulated Pythons having been just dumped and abandoned in the middle of the road/woods in Lincolnshire last weekend. Here at RSG Reptiles we have taken them all in and are currently looking after them while trying to bring them up to 100% health.
Owning an animal is not a right, its a privilege and these beautiful animals deserve to have all the love in the world. 4 were found last weekend, one being a massive 18ft and weighing in at 50kg and the other 3 are all around the 12-15ft. One of the Pythons was found to have a large amount of lumps on her which will need veterinary treatment.
Last night (Sat 21st) we received a phone call to say that members of the public had found a 5th snake wandering around the road. This snake had been out in the elements for over a week, was extremely lucky not to have been run over and was severely dehydrated. We took her back home and gave her what was probably the best bath of her life. Upon giving her a check over we discovered that she had an infected wound which was infested with maggots. We have cleaned this up as best we can and she will need further tests to find out the route of the problem and treat this.
We are not a charity and do not receive any help financially. We have nearly 40 reptiles in our care with the majority being rescues. We take them in, get them back up to health and either give them a forever home with us or someone else. All finances are paid for out of our own pockets and can get quite expensive. We would love to continue the work that we do and everything we earn we plough back into caring for these animals.
If you are able to help just a little, you would be making such a huge difference to these wonderful and loving animals.
Thank you for taking the time to ready this story and you can follow their progress on our RSG Reptiles YouTube Channel & Facebook Page.
