Hello, My name is Jarred Carter, owner of Only Rare NYC . The first black owned Hand rolled ice cream shop in New York City.

Established in 2018, I opened my dream store in hopes of becoming a full time entrepreneur. Quitting my career of 11 years in the process, with full confidence that it would be a success.

I’ve met so many wonderful people, hired passionate youth & held many community events in the 5 year span of being open; including FREE Health Awareness Days, Ice cream Campaigns, Art’s & Craft Classes , Kids DJ Workshops & more.

Unfortunately, within the last 18 months Ive fell behind due to many unforeseen events.

From major repairs to being scammed over 13k for faulty equipment & dealing with the expenses of a new born child. I fell behind 6 months in rent & utilities , Facing possible eviction.

I am 100% embarrassed to ask for help in this way, but I cannot lose what I worked so hard for. I came this far with no knowledge of business, just a passion for success, & YouTube at 25 years old . If I lose my shop I lose myself .

Only Rare has become a pillar in the Community, with tons of room for growth. I just need help getting over this hump, & everything will sustain itself like it was in the first 4 years .
