Support for Our Family During Mom’s Brain Surgery & Recovery
Our Story ❤️
Hello everyone, I am reaching out to our community today with a heavy heart but a hopeful spirit. As a mother of six—three biological children and three bonus children—my world revolves around my family. My husband works incredibly hard to provide for us, but we have recently been hit with a series of overwhelming challenges that we cannot navigate alone.
The Situation
Recently, I was scheduled for a critical brain surgery due to worsening symptoms that began to impact my daily life. Just four days before my scheduled surgery date, I was terminated from my position at UofL Health. Because my symptoms had progressed to the point where I could not complete my final 14 hours of scheduled work before the procedure, the hospital made the decision to let me go.
Why We Need Your Help
The timing of this job loss has been devastating for our family:
Loss of Security: Being fired days before surgery meant I lost my life insurance coverage at the exact moment I needed that peace of mind for my children.
Loss of Income: I am now facing a long recovery period with zero income and no medical leave benefits.
Rising Expenses: While my husband is working as hard as he can as a teacher and football coach, losing one-half of our household income while facing mounting medical bills and daily living expenses for six children is more than we can carry.
How You Can Help
We are asking for donations to help bridge the gap while I focus on healing and getting back on my feet for my kids. Your contributions will go directly toward:
Monthly household bills (rent, utilities, and groceries).
Medical out-of-pocket costs not covered by insurance.
Basic necessities for our six children during my recovery.
If you are unable to donate at this time, we completely understand. We simply ask that you share our story with your network and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as I recover.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, your prayers, and your generosity.
