My family recently moved to California due to a job change that I took on. After a couple of months of living here, my wife and three year old daughter were hit in a car accident and T-boned on their way to our son's school. Due to her being 22 weeks pregnant, an ambulance was called and took her to the nearest hospital.

We are grateful that our toddler does not seem to have any injuries. My wife had to spend over four hours in the hospital, and luckily, the pregnancy is not in danger. However, my wife has suffered bruising from the seatbelt and is experiencing back pain from the accident. The E.R. doctors recommended she enroll in physical therapy due to a previous injury she had suffered on her spine causing her to crack her C7 spinal bone.

The van in the accident was a rental due to our personal van being at the shop for hail damage repairs. Since the van was a rental, we are now faced with unplanned out of pocket expenses to rent another van while ours continues to get repaired, on top of medical bills.
