A child being able to grow and mature under the watchful eyes of two loving parents is the cornerstone of a sucessful childhood.  They don't need to be blood parents, what is important is love.  They should never be asking themselves why Mom or Dad is not around.  Sometimes this is inevitable, but I think as any divorced parent will tell you, the scariest part of going it alone is the child asking them why it can only be 1 parent at a time.   

Our family has worked hard and struggled to provide a loving home for our son, Rick.  He has very patiently waited on multiple occasions for one or the other of us to return so he could have both parents.  He is clearly his happiest when we are both with him.  We have been working to make that a permanant solution but sometimes life isnt as easy as any of  us hope.  We all have periods of sucess which are kept in check by periods of difficulty.  

In order for my wife and his mom, Virginia, to stay with us we need to resolve her residency.  We have been trying to accomplish this but keep having financial difficulties in doing so.  This problem is compunded by the fact that until her residency is resolved we can't get her a job.  A job, which she desperatly wants so she can feel like a contributing member of the family.  

Reaching out for help is one of the hardest things I have done.  It on the one hand feels like defeat, but on the other hand is becoming evidant as necissary for us to not be seperated again.   

I have spoke with a local immigration lawyer and the cost to process her documents is 4k.  We have until November to start this process.  The unfortunate reality is we will not be able to do this on our own.  

I know my situation is not any different than any of yours.  We are all strugling to get by.  Money is tight for all of us.  We would be eternally grateful for any assistance - financial or emotional support.
