My name is Bolatito Bello, a Nigerian and I'm currently a 3rd year medical student in Russia. I am currently unable to attend lectures as I haven't been able to raise my tuition fees. Your donations would be highly appreciated.
I was one of those kids who always wanted to be a doctor, I didn't understand the responsibilities and the years of study and training that go with the title but I did understand that the person in a white coat stood for knowledge and compassion.
My passion for medicine stems from my willingness to help people and be there for them on what is most likely their worst day and help them get through it. My dad recognized this even before I did and he would casually add "doctor" to my name when he called me. Growing up, we didn't always have all we wanted but my parents made sure we had everything we needed including providing my siblings and I with quality education.
In 2010, my dad fell ill and we watched him deteriorate due to this illness which led to his passing. Since then, my mum has been working extra hard to cater for us with little or no help. She has single-handedly raised us, shoving all her dreams aside making sure we lacked nothing. I am truly grateful for everything that she is. But with the current economic situation in Nigeria and the pandemic, my mum is unable to keep up with the payment of my tuition. I need to raise €5000 before the end of November 2020 to cover my tuition fees, resident permit renewal and rent in order to continue my studies.
Studying medicine abroad has been such a great opportunity for me and I want more than anything to see it through to the end. It would mean the world to my mum and family as a whole and I know that my dad would be proud. I sincerely appreciate your donation however little in order to continue studying medicine.
