Hello- as many of you may or may not know- one of my closest friends was hit by a taxi while in a crosswalk in New Year’s Eve in Lake Tahoe. Shawn was simply walking to her gig job when she was struck by a car ! Miraculously, Shawn survived this horrific accident, however she was hospitalized for over 6 weeks in the trauma ward in Reno.

Shawn suffered a shattered pelvis, a shattered left shoulder , and 3 vertebrae fractures. Due to the complexity of her case and recovery , Shawn continues to need to focus all of her time and energy on healing . Thankfully, Shawn did have about 10 weeks of sick leave and pto at her job. This however has run out. We desperately need to help Shawn continue to pay her bills in the interim as right now she has no money coming in. A lot of things are in limbo.

Shawn is a beautiful loving person whom without I would not be where I am today. Shawn faithfully stood by my side in some of my darkest times and took care of my kids so I could pursue nursing school later in life . Anyone who knows Shawn knows she is the most loving giving friend anyone could ask for . I am taking it upon myself to seek donations for her in this terrible time . Most of her day is consumed with physical therapy, occupational therapy, exhaustion and pain. She is trying to get back to work as soon as possible, but it has only been 3 months since her accident . This is not long for someone who was hit by a car as a pedestrian! Please , anything help to try to keep Shawn in her home so she can heal without the stress of money and eviction.
