Hello Friends. Stephen Agyei here.
A few years ago, I wrote a short film and wanted to make it with friends. I am excited to say that we are FINALLY moving forward with the project with Jill Narciso as Director, and Evan Nix will polish it off with the editing.
This is where I need your help. Obviously, these things cost money, and the goose came for the golden egg I was sitting on :(. However, I will pay the Editor and Director of Photography fees myself. With some favors from friends, we will be able to make the film for roughly 8k. 10k would be ideal.
Why did I put the goal at $7000 if it'll cost more? - Because I will pay the Editor and Director of Photography myself. We're in this together.
Below this estimate = $8250, and this is BEFORE paying our lovely actors. My goal is for everyone to have fun and be compensated.
Director/Set Designer/Producer $ 1,500
AD/Producer $ 900
Director of Photography $ 1,050
1st AC $ 300
Gaffer $ 300
Sound $ 450
Covid Compliance Officer $ 150
Makeup Artist $ 600
Production Assistant $ 150
Lunch & Craft Services $ 450
Editor $ 1,000
Colorist $ 800
Sound Foley, Design, Mixer $ 600
- Also - Gofundme takes a 2.9% fee upon completion of the goal. Ugh. fine. BUT
***If we can get 300 people to donate $20, that'll put us at $6k! So think of it as buying someone a couple of drinks. If you want to donate more, go for it!
If you want to talk about a larger donation/more involvement, please reach out.
Thanks for your time!
Writer/Lead/Executive Producer- Stephen Agyei began his comedy career in his hometown of Denver, CO and quickly became one of the city’s most sought-after comedians; becoming a headliner at the world-famous Comedy Works, the host of Film on The Rocks at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater, and being hand-picked to open for some of the most prominent comedians in the country. While climbing to the top of the Denver scene, the child of Ghanian immigrants double majored in Communication and Sociology at the University of Colorado-Boulder and ran Division 1 track as a scholarship athlete.
In addition to headlining clubs and colleges nationwide, Stephen served as an ambassador of Denver comedy at national Festivals including Riot L.A. Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival and High Plains Comedy Festival, to name a few. After appearing on Viceland’s Flophouse, and NPR’s All Things Considered, Stephen Moved to Los Angeles where he booked roles on Bojack Horseman and Just For Laughs Digital from his live performances. You may know his face from his National commercial work Realtor.com, and his upcoming commercial for Remi Martin(Directed by Jake Nava), and Voiceover on Cartoon Network’s Tig-N-Seek.
The Director- Jill Narciso is an award-winning writer/director and queer Filipino, who creates films showcasing diverse protagonists who like to break out of cultural norms.
Her latest film, Dolls, about a jealous old toy who uses drastic measures to gain her owner’s attention, recently won “Juror’s Choice” in the Women of Color Filmmaker’s Fall Film Challenge.
Jill’s films have had a film circuit run in Los Angeles, North Carolina and Poland, and can be streamed on Roku and Apple TV. In addition, she is a featured filmmaker in the digital-media company Boyish Media, a fellow in FilmNorth’s Pilot Lab: Inclusive & Socially Conscious Filmmaking, a mentee of Women of Color Unite’s #Startwith8Hollywood mentoring program, and a mentee of Women of Color Filmmaker’s Film Lab.
Jill is the weird one in her writing group who likes to question which weapon causes the most blood in a victim, and whose scripts are often read while the sun is out.
As a director, she loves including as many women of color in front of and behind the camera to not only change Hollywood, but to help inspire those still afraid to live out their dreams.
No raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made.
