My husband is the sole provider for our family while I stay home to homeschool our 6-year-old daughter. He has spent his career serving and protecting others — first in law enforcement, and now working as a school safety officer at a private elementary school.

Recently, he developed an infection that led to an emergency surgery, extended hospitalization, and ultimately amputation. This has been a devastating and unexpected blow for our family. He is now unable to work for at least six weeks. With him being our only income, this has put us in a very difficult position as we try to keep up with hospital bills, rent, and everyday needs during his recovery.
