Loss and Love

As we get nearer to Christmas, we also are approaching my sisters due date. Our family and friends knew that my sister was pregnant with twin baby boys. A lot of you may not know that they’ve both joined us here, earth side for some time. Milo and Luca, my beautiful, tender, tiny nephews came unexpectedly just shy of 25 weeks the beginning of September. We sadly snuggled and kissed Milo as he went to be in the arms of grandpa in heaven. My sister, Amanda, has been quietly mourning and navigating being a mom to Reagan, who is 3 and 1/2 as well as Luca, who is in the NICU at phx children’s hospital. Luca has had a hard road, being here with us for such a short time, he’s already proven to be such a little warrior. He’s overcome so many obstacles and despite a mountain of set backs, he is stable, growing, hiccuping, smiling, and loving his mommy cuddles. However, the time has come for her to return back to work. She is an RN at Mercy Gilbert and worked consistently through the pandemic, even when pregnant with the boys. Caring for others is in her heart. She’ll be heading back working part time until Luca is stronger, finding the new normal and balance of life.
