I know this is a hard time for everyone. I sincerely hope all my family and friends remain safe and make it through this unprecedented time in our lives.

However my father and I are in dire straight with our rental lease. COVID-19 social distancing orders have my father unable to perform his job as a ride-share driver. He has applied for unemployment insurance for emergency money to pay for the roof over heads while other options are attempted.

I had been working at Panera since last summer. Recent events have caused me to contribute my income toward our living situation. Sadly I to was put on a leave of absence. We have a plan to use stimulus money to keep our bills paid. Unfortunately there is a gap in time that is putting us in jeopardy of losing our apartment. We were able to pay some of our April rent and have fallen short by half.

This would cause great difficulties for me and my father, as we would almost certainly have to leave the area without a clear path or destination.  My hope is to remain here and finish high school.

My father has worked hard to get us to this point and we have been making it just barely for 4 years in our low income apartment. Against all odds we arrived here after making incredible efforts, taking us from near homelessness all the way to me almost graduating from a highly rated California public school with what I consider a great experience. I especially have enjoy the community I live in and have made many exceptional friends. 

I know my father has many other concerns financially and having this secured would make him way less stressed to tackle other required needs.
