For ten years, Black Tie Music Academy and its magical owners/music-makers — Braeden Kershner and Kris Manning — have brought music education and joy to our community of Daniel Island and to the greater Charleston area. The recent pandemic has forced BTMA to close its doors (announced today) with an uncertain path forward from here. Braeden and Kris haven’t asked for our help, but they need it. We can’t let the music stop! Although this fundraiser probably isn’t enough to keep BTMA open, I hope it will be enough to keep the music alive in schools and through Kris’ and Braeden’s future endeavors.
