Help us Help the Whelan Twins!

Hello everyone! My name is Kristen Clark and I have been best friends with Kimmy for almost 20 years and love her and her family with all of my heart. My heart has been breaking for her because over the past few months she has had to endure things I wouldn't wish on anyone. Her friends, family and I have been trying to think of ways to help her and this seemed to be the best way to send a little sunshine her way.
A little over 2 months ago Kimmy gave birth to 2 beautiful precious twins babies. A boy..Karson and a girl..Karlee. They were born 2 months premature and had to spend their first 8 weeks of life in the NICU at Inspira Vineland. When they finally got strong enough to come home to be with their family, they were under strict rules to not be exposed to a lot of people and germs. Kimmy tried her best to keep them safe and healthy but premie babies have very fragile immune systems and Karlee started to get sick and wasn't eating properly.
After being home for only about a week or so, Kimmy took Karlee to the emergency room and while waiting to be seen, she stopped breathing and had to be brought back to life. Karlee had contracted the RSV Virus which attacks the respiratory system and can be very deadly to a premie baby. A common cold to the rest of us but very scary for parents of premature babies. Karlee was then transported to DuPont Children's Hospital and was placed on a ventilator to help her get oxygen.
She was there 2 days and then her brother Karson also contracted the RSV virus and was transported to DuPont as well and also placed on a ventilator. The babies have been there for over a week and have just recently been taken off the ventilator! This is good news and they are slowly getting better! However because of all the drugs given to them to help them get better, this process will take awhile because they need to be weaned off the drugs and learn how to eat normally again.
Kimmy and Kevin are still receiving hospital bills from the NICU when the twins were first born and haven't even began to receive the new bills from DuPont yet. Their insurance only covers so much of the medical bills. They have also been traveling back and forth to the hospital since the twins were born and all these things certainly have taken a toll on them.
I am hoping to lighten their burden by asking for help from anyone who would like to help this family and their precious twin babies. Our goal certainly won't cover all the costs they will endure but will help cover a portion and hopefully put their minds at ease.
