Help fund Shay's Erbs Palsy surgery
Donation protected
Please just take a second to read.
I have been suffering with Erbs Palsy a type of brachial plexus Palsy since birth due to the tearing of nerves during delivery. The tearing of the nerves prompted muscle paralysis of my rotator cuff muscles in my shoulder (muscles that externally rotate and lift the arm) and I have struggled to carry out certain movements or live in the absence of pain since. I am about to go for one of the first lower trapezius tendon transfers in Australia through the guidance of an orthopaedic surgeon from Mayo Clinic USA.
After finding out I had absolutely no financial help what so ever from the government and being told I cannot work, drive, lift or exercise for 12 -18 weeks post surgery I was forced to resign from my job in which I now have no options. I'm asking you donate even $2 to this fund to help cover the expensive surgery costs as I am facing a minimum of 6 months unemployed.
After 20 years of being told I had no option for surgery, my hope is to be able to live a normal life with minimal pain and reduced struggle for the small things a lot of us take for granted like holding a coffee mug.
Thanks for helping on this life changing journey!
