Help Our Family Battle Cancer

Hi, this John's wife, Nicole.

John was diagnosed with undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (a very rare aggressive soft tissue cancer) November 9th 2023.

It's been almost a year of this journey leading up to this diagnosis. He has a large mass in his right hamstring and a spot in his right femur. We don't yet have a diagnosed stage of how progressed this is.

One of the best treatment options at this time is a clinic that more specifically treats sarcoma. We are being told by several docters that this is a very hard cancer to treat, and that there's no targeted treatment for it. However this clinic specifically states that they specifically treat sarcoma. They do not accept insurance, and their estimated cost of care for 8 months is nearly $150,000.

We know God uses His people, as His hands and feet, to do great things.

We know He can do this.

And I have grown to cling to this truth also: Nothing is wasted. Not a single pain is gone to waste.

We have five kids, ages 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2.

We homeschool them and enjoy growing and learning together. John and I love shepherding these little people.

With all this hardship unfolding, the kids understand at different levels what is happening. By some amazing grace they seem so secure in the midst of their concern for daddy. I guess that's the fruit of them catching faith. As they say, faith isn't taught, it's caught.

And maybe that's a piece of why God is allowing this to happen. To grow a faith in us that benefits us in our relationship with Him, and grow a faith in all the people around us, to benefit others in ways we cannot imagine.

Pray for John, as he continues to push thru the pain he has, and goes to work every day. I am proud of his soldier heart, and his determination to care for his family even while he manages his pain.

Pray God will continue to be magnified in this trial. Trust is a choice made every day....and we'll take this day by day.
