Support Brenda's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Carol, and I'm fundraising to help my best friend Brenda.
"If I were a rich man" I would do it myself, but I'm not, so I'm turning to you.
Last December, Brenda started dialysis 3 times a week, and was put on the transplant list for a kidney. She is a hardworking, single mom, and has been gainfully employed this entire time.
An angel in earthly form, a living donor, gave her one of their kidneys! It is a bit of a bumpy road to start, but she is keeping a great attitude, and doing her best to heal.
During this time, she is on short term disability, which only provides 60% of her salary, plus she has to pay her own health insurance to stay on with her company.
This burden is difficult at best, and bankrupting at worst. She needs your help! I am doing what I can, but I am not a "rich man", and would appreciate anything you could do to help her out so that she can recover, go back to work, and not have to worry about gas, groceries, rent, insurance, and student loans while she's recovering for 12 weeks.
I am helping out with moral support, rides and some groceries. Yes, she will be on medication for the rest of her life with this transplant, but to make it through these 12 weeks, it will take any help you can provide, and will put her mind at ease.
We thank you for your support!
