Help Adam walk again
Hi all, my name is Nick and I am organizing this fundraiser to help my brother Adam with his bone disease, pseudarthrosis, and leg complications, that he has been diagnosed with since birth. Adam spent the majority of his life as a patient at the Shriners hospital for children that need special pediatric care until he was about 20 years old. From the time he was 20-30 years old his leg was in a stable condition and he was able to perform most daily functions without too much trouble. However, in 2019 right before the pandemic, his leg completely broke from trying to exercise and from working 8-hours days as a chef in Royal Oak, MI. Adam has been a patient at Beaumont hospital since his leg broke in 2020 and it has been incredibly hard to schedule surgeries and appointments with his leg doctor due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After multiple surgeries through 2020 and the first half of 2021, his leg is STILL broken and we just received notice from his current Beaumont doctor that there is nothing else left for them to try and that they are unable to fix his broken leg. We are currently in the middle of trying to get Adam accepted as a patient at the hospital at the University Of Michigan to see if there might be a doctor that can help fix his leg. At this point, we are not sure if it will be possible for Adam to fully recover, but we are going to try our best and exhaust all of our options to help Adam get back on both of his feet. With all of this being said, Adam needs help paying for all of these medical expenses. Adam has thus far been fortunate enough to receive some help from the state, but it's not nearly enough to cover the cost of his surgeries and medical expenses. Adam is one of the kindest souls I know and would give the shirt off of his back to help a stranger if it was for good reason. Any amount of contributions would be incredibly helpful and would mean the world to Adam and our family.
