Two weeks after my brother Chad Lamphere, a physician and veteran, lost his battle with PTSD, I attended a Center for Mind-Body Medicine Professional Training to start the process of getting certified to run groups teaching resilience and stress management skills, the best model with the "strongest evidence that it works to cure PTSD" according to the NY Times, to help victims of trauma heal their brains and their lives. I had hoped he could attend with me and though not present in body, if I hadn't felt his spirit bolstering me, my grief would have kept me from finishing the week.
One of the last times I talked to my brother he said he wanted to help vets. I want to continue through the next steps in certification to teach this model which requires two more week long trainings and supervision running groups.
If you want to support Chad's and my dream, please do so.
With Gratitude,
Nicole Hohmann
