Hi there, this is Bren and Jas. Just this weekend, our cute but stinky cat Oreo seems to have eaten something she shouldn’t have, and it is now lodged in her stomach and small intestine. She’s been throwing up all weekend, unable to keep food down, and had (smelly) issues in the litter box. We were very concerned for her health, so we brought her to the vet today. After a pricey vet visit and xray, it looks like the estimate of the surgery to remove whatever she ate will be $4000-4500+. This is a heavy hit for us, as my wife and I were unemployed almost all of last year due to game industry layoffs.

We’ve only just started to recover after losing all of our savings last year to keep us afloat, and then my wife had to go into the hospital for an emergency just recently, and we haven’t received a medical bill for that yet (also uninsured).
