During this time, as we are still grieving, it truly is difficult to find the right words, to announce the loss of our mother, Judy Cooper, due to COVID-19. Her untimely death sent a shockwave through our entire family.
One never expects death to knock at our door, but here we are, mourning our loss. Our mom was a very loving and giving person that would always help someone in need. There are many that will read this and nod their head as they relate and may have even been the one in need.
She loved easily and welcomed everyone into her heart and she never met a stranger. She loved to laugh, hated to cry, yet would be there as a shoulder to cry on if needed. She touched every one of us in ways I'm not sure she even knew.
Mom was a healthy woman but had become ill but stable for several days. In the blink of an eye, things started to become serious when her oxygen level dipped into the 60's and I finally demanded to take her to the hospital on November 26th. When I got to her house and laid eyes on her, I knew if I had waited, she would not have survived the night. She received excellent care from the time she was admitted but four days later she was moved to ICU and on day five a ventilator was in order. He condition continued to decline, she became septic and had a multi-organ failure. Her kidneys failed and she gave up the fight on December 4th at Doctors Hospital in Manteca. Fortunately, my brothers and I were able to be at her side holding her hand and comforting her through her last breath. She was not alone, like so many other Covid victims.
Our mom leaves behind a large family, with a husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The purpose for this "gofundme" is not necessarily to pay for 'funeral expenses" but to help offset the unexpected expenses incurred by the celebration of life we will be holding. In lieu of gifts or flowers please send a donation to help with travel, accommodations, food, beverages, etc. We will use what is needed and donate the remaining balance to a charity that we know she would be proud of.
Thank you in advance for your contribution and please stay healthy
"Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not...."
Love,
Rox, Caleb, Gabe and Volker
