Save Lilly’s Leg

Hi Friends, Fam, and fellow Cat Lovers,

I found this sweet girl running for her life after being struck by a car in Los Angeles commuter traffic. She scurried across Crenshaw Blvd dragging one leg behind with the threat of oncoming traffic. I was able turn in front of and slow opposing traffic to give her time to get onto the side walk. She fled behind a brick wall and I followed to make sure she was ok but found her pressed into a shallow corner frightened and feral. Her chin was bloody and nails were all broken, some nails completely removed.

I got her to my office and was able to get her comfortable enough to sleep until I could take her to emergency. Who turned us away and said to schedule with a vet in the morning. After a lot of calls and about 4.5 hours in the vet office we were able to determine that she has a fractured leg that will require surgery in order for her to live a normal kitty life.

I’ve named her Lilith, Lilly for short and she is about 4 weeks old. We’ve had her in our care for a few days and have fallen absolutely in love with her. We received her surgery quote of $4,200 and I’m still reeling from the exorbitant cost after already being charged roughly $1k for her testing and X-rays. Thank you to my mother-in-law for offering her kitty fund to help cover the initial costs. As you can see we are already fully invested and Lilly is now a part of our crazy, cat people, Nishi fam.
