Casey's Battle with Cancer

Casey got into MD Anderson!! Her appointment is January 31st.

UPDATE as of 1/17/2024

Casey was told this week that the doctors no longer think they can cure her cancer. They said her tumor isn’t responding to the radiation like it should. They want to put her on a stronger chemo to help prolong her life and the average life expectancy she was given is two years. We aren’t sure where to go from here and are devastated with this news. We are looking into getting a second opinion at MD Anderson, but as of right now we are just trying to process all of this information. Please continue to pray for us during this difficult time and share her campaign to help her continue her battle.

Casey is set to start treatment December 11th. We truly appreciate everyone’s generosity with their donations and their support through sharing.

With a heavy heart I am reaching out to family, friends, and our community seeking some support for my younger sister as she embarks on battle with cervical cancer.

On November 7, 2023, my little sister, Casey Wao, was diagnosed with Stage 3b cervical cancer. She will have to go through 5-6 weeks of radiation, 5 days a week, one of those days she will receive chemo as well. Throughout this time she will be unable to work, as she will be receiving treatment at OU Medical that is nearly two hours away. Thankfully, Elliott’s job has allowed him to take leave of absence so he can accompany Casey to her treatments. Unfortunately as we all know, bills won't stop rolling in, even for cancer patients and their families.

Anyone who knows Casey knows that she is not one to ever ask for help. She has always been fiercely independent, eager to help others in need, but never wanted to feel like a burden to ask for herself, not matter the situation. Right now, what Casey and Elliott need most is to focus on Casey's treatment, and not have to worry about the expenses that come with this journey.
