Russell Franks’ Medical Support
Donation protected

Hi my name is Alyssa Franks, Russell’s daughter. Early Wednesday morning 08/22/23 my dad suffered from a seizure and was transported via ambulance where he spent the last week in ICU. Later it was discovered there was an abscess on his brain that was causing the seizures. He was rushed emergently to another hospital where a surgeon drilled a hole to drain the abscess. After more testing, and a decline in his mental status, it was found his body was fighting a serious infection in, not only in his brain, but also his heart and lungs. More testing revealed more areas on his lungs that have been determined to be cancer. My dad is a fighter and anyone who knows him knows what a hard worker he is for his family. He remains in ICU at Physicians Regional Hospital. We don't know all that lies ahead of us but we do know he will continue to require daily antibiotics as an outpatient for atleast the next six weeks at $130/day. He will continue to see a neurosurgeon, an infectious disease doctor and an oncologist. He will require physical therapy in hopes of regaining the strength on his right side. Without insurance and the ability to continue to work, the financial burden that lies ahead is overwhelming. I want my dad to focus on his health. If you know Russ, you know he's not only a constant jokester...but more than anything, he's a fighter. My dad has a long road of recovery and will be in a constant fight for his life, Losing my dad has always been my biggest fear and this past week I felt my fear was becoming a reality. He has always been there for me, he has been my rock. Right now, I want to be his. Anything I can do to lessen the financial burden that lies ahead will allow my dad to focus on fighting this disease. Any donations will go towards his rising medical bills and allow him to receive the ongoing treatment he needs. Any support is greatly appreciated. If anyone is unable to donate even the smallest amount, I ask for your prayers and to share this post. Sincerely, Alyssa Franks
