My mom has been through it the last couple of months. On August 3rd, 2025, she was hospitalized for chronic pancreatitis, which she almost died from. She was in KU Medical Center for a month with one complication after another. Finally, she got healthy enough to go into rehab, which was great. She came out a whole new person, ready to take on this new life of hers.

Then, on October 22nd, 2025, she was in a bad car accident. She broke 3 vertebrae in her neck, had staples in her head, 3 broken ribs, a broken hip bone, a pubic bone, and internal bleeding. We almost lost her that day. She is now in a rehab facility learning how to walk, shower, and just do everything we all do on a daily basis. But she does have an apartment and bills that are stacking up. She will be unable to work still for some time.
