Hi my name is Griffin Wilson. I am a 25 year old competitive ultra runner, cyclist, and aspiring doctor from Edmonton Alberta.

On September 13th, 2025, I’ll be attempting one of my most difficult endurance challenges: a solo “Everesting” of Prairie Mountain in Kananaskis, Alberta, to raise money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The rules are simple: climb the same mountain over and over until I’ve accumulated the elevation of Mount Everest — 8,848 metres. On Prairie Mountain, that means 13 full ascents and descents, covering over 100 kilometres of rugged trail in a single effort.

The Alberta Cancer Foundation funds life-saving research, cutting-edge treatments, and compassionate care for patients across the province. This research and compassionate care is part of why my grandfather is still alive. This challenge is my way of giving back and showing what’s possible when we push our limits for something bigger than ourselves.

My goal is to raise $8,848 — one dollar for every metre I climb. Every donation will go directly to the Alberta Cancer Foundation to help fund cancer research, enhance patient care programs, and support cancer screening and prevention initiatives across Alberta. The Alberta Cancer Foundation invest in areas like innovative treatments, patient support programs, and clinical trials to improve outcomes for Albertans facing cancer.

This isn’t just a climb. It’s a commitment—a way to show solidarity with every person walking an uphill battle with cancer. With your help, I’ll summit this mountain 13 times — so that someone else’s journey might become just a little bit lighter.
