Orlando's surgery
Donation protected
Hi, we're the Hoad family, Katie, Natalie and Zach. Our darling kitten Orlando is only 7 months old and is now having emergency surgery to remove a linear foreign body from her abdomen. She became ill last Friday 4th August, when she was sick several times. She also stopped eating and drinking. On Saturday morning we went to our vets, Adur Valley Vets in Lancing. They couldn't find any obvious reason and gave her an anti sickness injection in the hope that she would improve. By Saturday evening she still hasn't eaten or drunk anything and began crying. We immediately took her to the out of hours vets, New Priory Vets in Brighton. They admitted her to give her fluids and pain medication.
The following day she had a fast scan which showed possibly some inflammation in the abdomen. She had urine test, blood tests and was started on antibiotics.
We were able to spend an hour with her on Sunday afternoon but she still wasn't eating. Later on Sunday she did eat a little but the decision was made to do a full ultrasound and x-ray today. The result of which is the discovery of a linear foreign body in the abdomen. They won't know what it is or how much damage it has caused until they operate. We want to give her every chance of recovery but our insurance only covers her for £4000. And at the moment it's looking like upwards of £8000, money we just don't have. Please, anything you can do to help and share we would be very grateful.
