Help to Cover Normans Emergency Surgery & Fuzzys Treatment

*This Fundraiser description has been edited to include details in regard to the sudden emergency operation our cat, Norman, recently had to be hospitalized for*

Fuzzys Case:
Initially we started this fundraiser to assist is some sudden vet bills for our cat Fuzzy. Early March, she was diagnosed with diabetes and asthma. Since then, everyday, twice a day, she is given insulin. She now lives a very regimented but healthier life!
Due to the diabetes, she had lost most mobility in her left back leg and becomes easily dehydrated. She definitely never complains and does love all the extra attention she gets, even if it’s to distract her from an injection.

Normans Case:
The TLDR of it is Norman was diagnosed with a blocked bladder after multiple vet visits over a few days. It would either be caused by urine crystals, or worst case, kidney stones (which would mean additional surgery.) He had to be taken to the 24hr Emergency Vet immediately to undergo an operation to provide him with a catheter and have his bladder manually drained and flushed for 36 hours, staying in emergency care.
If we didn’t do this when we did, he was going to die.

They had to take X-rays, run blood & urine tests.
Thankfully it was urinary crystals - so he won’t need additional surgeries! Very specific at home care and monitoring is going to be life saving for him. They also informed us it’s likely he can reblock after 24hrs - within the week. Beyond that, he will have to be on a very strict and specific diet - and paying extra attention to his bowel movements for signs of another block.

Norman Costs:
His total cost are estimated $4000 - $5000. (Still awaiting final invoice upon his release.) (This includes the $3500 we needed to pay upfront.)

We fostered to adopt Norman early this year, and immediately fell in love with his soft & sweet personality.
Norman was a feral boy, living in a FIV+ cat colony on Salt Spring. It’s hard to tell how old he is because he’s clearly been through a lot. He’s missing the tops of both his ears. He has numerous missing and broken teeth. His nose bridge is covered in tiny scars. Upon his recent X-ray, they discovered a bb bullet was imbedded in his hip.
He’s been through more than we will ever know.
We adopted him to give him a new life free of struggle and we feel so blessed to be able to do that for him.

We lost our boy, Teddy, to cancer this past winter.
Shortly after, our girl, Fuzzy, was diagnosed with diabetes. It’s been a lot of vet bills in a very short amount of time - let alone all the time away from work & losing income to spend days monitoring them as we adjust to new routines and care needs.

Your support means we won’t fall behind on our bills and be able to give our little guys a start at life saving care.

Any denomination of donation adds up. Even sharing with the people in your life if you cannot donate. We greatly appreciate your support!

Myself, Tama, Fuzzy, Norman all send our love to you!
