I'm trying to raise some money to help fund my recovery from surgery.

I have been struggling through the Medi-Cal system and its long wait times and hurdles for the last year and a half, and I was finally able to undergo a gender affirming surgery.

I recently had body feminization surgery and have spent the last 3 weeks on bed rest while I heal, and still have some ways to go. My mobility has been fairly limited during this time and I will be unable to do strenuous physical activity for the near future. I cleared my entire schedule for August in preparation for this. Unfortunately, my surgery was originally supposed to happen at the very end of May, but due to a scheduling and communications error it was pushed to the very end of July at the last minute. This means I cleared my entire work schedule for June as well. I picked up some small amount of work to scrape by for July, but these several months out of work (and passing on several gigs because of the situation) have drained what little savings I had. I'm currently flat broke with no upcoming work prospects.

I am starting this GoFundMe in hopes of trying to get back on a stable footing, as my work opportunities will be somewhat limited for the next few months due to the length of the recovery period. My needs are small, I need to cover rent, what food my food stamps won't cover, and I need to acquire a small amount of new clothes, especially undergarments, as the shape and size of my body has been drastically altered. I'm asking for a thousand dollars in hopes of covering myself, and the aforementioned needs until the end of September, a time period wherein I hopefully will be healed enough to find some work I am capable of.
