Jailyn Ventura Funeral Expenses Fund
Donation protected
On behalf of my sister, Yolanda Barajas-Zamora.
On July 29th my niece, Jailyn Ventura, was taken to the emergency room after both her legs swelled up. After many tests and an MRI, it was determined that she had a tumor on her adrenal gland. She was then urgently transported to UC Davis Medical Center (2 hrs away from Merced) to be further tested. It was there where it was also determined that she had additional tumors on her liver.
Unfortunately, my sister got the news that no parent should ever receive. My niece was diagnosed with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma (ACC), a rare form of cancer. The tumor has spread to her IVC (the largest vein in the human body) making it difficult for her to walk and in need to use a wheel chair to get around.
My niece is now fighting for her life. Jailyn is the most fun, loving and caring person that you could come across. Her sense of humor is unmatched. She never misses the opportunity to crack a joke simply to make others laugh. She is a second year college student pursuing her career in Criminal Justice.
My sister has had to be absent from her job to care for her daughter, take her to medical appointments and soon my niece will start chemotherapy. Their whole lives have been turned up side down by this monster disease.
Due to the cancer being so rare, there are two medical facilities that can treat this cancer. One of the facilities is out of state and the other one is in UC Davis.
My sister and her family are in need of financial support to help relieve all the expenses she is facing (etc. travel, food, childcare for her two youngest sons, housing, plane tickets, parking, and who knows what else).
We are asking our family and friends to help our niece and her family in this very difficult time. This is only the beginning.
On behalf of my sister and all our family, we would like to thank you all for your support.
Please keep her in your prayers.
*All funds raised will go directly to my sisters account.
