The Chamberlain College of Nursing Fall 2016 Senior Legacy Project's goal is to help the people of Haiti by sponsoring the education of their future nurses.
Haiti Nursing Foundation's mission is to support the advancement of nursing in Haiti, with a focus on the FSIL Nursing School in Léogâne. The Haiti Nursing Foundation is a 501 (c)(3).
FSIL is the first and highest ranked baccalaureate nursing program in Haiti.
FSIL has graduated 115 nurses to date, 95% of whom continue to live and work in Haiti.
The school cannot survive without significant help from outside Haiti. Even a small part of the $4,000 annual cost per student is impossible for most Haitian families to manage.

"I was given the opportunity to go to Haiti for 2 weeks in July, and my experience was nothing short of life-changing. The people of this country are so hopeful and express gratitude everyday, even with such limited resources. My group and I assessed clients in health fairs, visited two hospitals, and observed at a birthing center. We were able to work closely with FSIIL students; they are incredibly intelligent and welcomed us with open arms. I came back a changed person and am forever grateful to Haiti."

I can only imagine the endless possibilities if FSIL and their wonderful and dedicated students and faculty received the aid to continue making monumental strides in the name of nursing."
