Future Teacher Needs Some Wheels!

Hi friends! I am reaching out for support on behalf of a former student of mine. He is a senior in college in upstate New York and about to begin his student teaching. Without a car-traveling to and from his teaching experiences will be extremely difficult as public transportation does not go directly to where he needs to go. As a city kid, driving was an incredibly intimidating idea, so much so that he spent an entire semester (and a lot of money) on perfecting his driving skills through driving lessons.

I have watched him work towards his goal of becoming a teacher since he was a teenager. He is now working on his graduate school applications, looking for a place where he can spend more time with the words and work of bell hooks because "her words really speak to me". He is a diligent and thoughtful student who will open spaces and opportunities for his students-AS LONG AS HE CAN GET TO SCHOOL!
