Introducing Future Steps of Autism—a program dedicated to creating safe, effective, and empowering learning spaces for our students. But to make this vision a reality, we need to prepare our incredible team first. This is a pilot initiative operating under the fiscal sponsorship Social Good Fund, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All funds raised here go directly to Social Good Fund, restricted solely for our program's launch.

Overview

This pilot program will provide neurodivergent youth (ages 18-25) with targeted coaching tailored to workplace environments. By partnering with inclusive employers for supported internships, the initiative aims to build professional confidence and establish a scalable model for long-term career success.

Constituency

My people are the participants (Autistic youth), the parents, my decision-making board, supportive coaches, and inclusive employers. This program directly benefits the youth by increasing self-esteem, financial independence, and mastery of soft skills (computer, resume, and confidence-building skills). The employers receive access to a neuro-inclusive talent pool known for high attention to detail, and the community benefits by reducing the long-term reliance on social services.

Solution

The issue is the employment gap between traditional workplace structures and neurodivergent-friendly environments, which would provide the structure and tools required to be successful at the workplace. The solution is to recognize their strengths and provide structured learning focused on improving them and maximizing the chances of job placement rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, which would not suit neurodivergent youth.

$1,000 = Curriculum Creation: Developing the specialized training materials our coaches need to teach effectively.

$6,840 = Coaching Pay for the course of the program, which is a total of 9 months: Providing a stipend for our 2 inaugural autism coaches and a program coordinator as they undergo intensive training and launch the pilot.

Total: $9,840 for 9 months.

Monthly Cost: ~$1,093 a month to run the program.

Daily Cost: Just $36 a day to keep the entire pilot alive and serving youth.
