Hi, I’m Bethany Star Burnside; most friends call me Star. I'm 16 years old and a senior at the International High School of New Orleans. I've been given an excellent opportunity to study creative writing in New York with the School of the New York Times! It's exhilarating, as I love writing and bringing new ideas to life. I plan to refine my writing skills in courses taught by reporters, editors and other industry experts who have an insider’s knowledge of the craft. Ultimately, I hope to use my writing to do something extraordinary in the future.
Studying with the New York Times this summer is the first step, and that's where I need your help.
