Future Baby Wenger
Hi, my name is Abbie. My husband (Landon) and I got married in October of 2020. Being a newly married couple, having children wasn’t the first thing on our minds. But my body had some other plans. I was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome when I was 5 years old. Growing up, I had been told that having children may not be a possibility for me. But I just always told myself, “no, that wouldn’t happen to me”. Well, here we are. I knew a couple years ago my one level (necessary for getting pregnant) wasn’t great. But I didn’t think much of it. I was still so young, and thought “Everything’s fine”. Until a few years later (September of 2020) when I looked up that level again and realized how bad it actually was. We knew getting pregnant on our own wasn’t going to be possible in the future if we didn’t do something about it now. So in March, we began our journey with infertility and doctors. Come to found out that level dropped even lower. So, we decided to move forward with IVF. Things kept getting pushed back, and tests needed to be run, and it just seemed like it would never happen. But SURPRISE! We are starting our first cycle on August 21st 2021. We’re excited and ready to start this journey, but we need help. Not only is this whole process physically and emotionally exhausting, it’s also financially draining, as insurance does not help cover any of this. So, we are asking our friends and family for support, as well as to share the word.
We tried to avoid thinking about the financial ramifications for as long as possible, but the realities hit once we started getting quotes from the hospital. The average cost of a complete IVF cycle including medications and appointments, ranges from $25,000 - $30,000.
To be completely honest, we wanted to avoid asking others for financial support as much as possible. But we’ve been left with no choice. So if you feel it in your heart to donate, we’d really appreciate it, and so will baby Wenger.
Thank you all for your support in advance!
