This is for a family who has faced so much adversity since February of 2008. But they are such a strong group and keep on fighting relentlessly and have been so courageous and inspirational to everyone who knows them. Daryl and Sandy Futhey's son Charlie was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Round Cell tumors, a very rare and aggressive cancer when he was only 5 years old. He endured extensive chemotherapy and surgery, and was cancer free for a little over two years. But in January of 2012, the family received news that doctors had found another tumor on Charlie's C.T. scan. On January 19th, 2012, Charlie underwent yet another surgery and doctors were able to remove the tumor. Unfortunately to this day, doctors have found more tumors, and currently he has multiple lung tumors and two enlarged lymph notes in his stomach. He has done numerous rounds of chemotherapy and multiple blood transfusions. And if that wasn't bad enough, his mother Sandy Futhey was diagnosed with a type of leukemia called Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia on September 23rd of this year. She will have to remain in the hospital for up to four weeks, when hopefully she will be able to start out patient chemotherapy at that time. To not be able to be home at night with her family is completely unimaginable. And through all of this the family has stayed positive and know they will beat this together. I also would like to mention a young lady named Annie. She has had to take a "back seat" to her brother Charlie due to his fight with cancer. But this amazing high school sophomore has stood by her younger brother through everything and is his biggest cheerleader. Again, this is the most amazing family I could ever wish to know. But they need our help. As you can imagine, even with insurance, fighting cancer is a VERY expensive battle. Not having to be concerned with the financial burden, they can focus all of their energy on getting both Charlie and Sandy healthy and ridding themselves of this nasty disease. Every single person on this earth's life has been affected by cancer in one way or another. My mother passed away when I was only seven so I personally know the loss that cancer can bring. I know we can raise a lot of money for them with your support. I'm going to end this with the family's motto since the very beginning. "Keep On Keepin On!!"
