Hey friends - I've finally decided to swallow my pride and ask for a little financial help from you all, specifically to cover the costs associated with Harrison's soccer club. As you may or may not know, I have sole legal guardianship of Harrison, who is my ex-husband's nephew from Guatemala. He is not a refugee nor a foster child - so I do not get any financial assistance from the government for taking care of him. He is with me because he is a U.S. citizen, so he has the right to be here, but his family in Guatemala does not have that same right. They are in Guatemala and, quite frankly, they are quite poor. Harrison would not have nearly the same level of opportunity for good education and a bright future in Guatemala as he does here in the U.S. And so, I've taken him in as my own, and I am committed to raising him through to adulthood. :)
If you know Harrison at all, you know that his one true love is soccer, and he is quite good at it, if I do say so myself. ;) He deserves the best available opportunity to grow as a person and as an athlete through soccer, which is why I have had him playing soccer through the Michigan Futbol Academy's "River City Revolution" club for the past year and a half, and I have him enrolled again for this coming year. Problem is, I never really could afford it, and I definitely cannot afford it this year. So, I am asking for your help. I would like to get this paid for in full before the season begins so that I don't have to stress about where the money will come from every month for the installment payments. I want Harrison and I to both enjoy this coming season to the fullest without worrying about finances because honestly, we BOTH need his soccer in our lives!
The total balance I owe for the upcoming season (which is during the entire school year) is $1,835. I need to purchase a few more uniform items for his new winter team, adding another $145. That is $1,980 total, the full amount I am requesting. Anything raised beyond that would go toward Harrison's back-to-school expenses including supplies and new clothes.
Thank you in advance for considering supporting us / Harrison in this way. You know I hate asking for your support in this way, but sometimes we just gotta do it. That's what our village is for, right? :)
Love you all. xoxo.
