My name is Jeremiah McCoy, best known as Jerry! I would like to extend an invitation for you to be my sponsor. I have the opportunity to travel to Rome with the marching band at Woodward Academy to perform in the New Year's Day parade on January 1, 2024. ROME!!! I am so excited! I have never been outside of the U.S.; in fact, no one in my immediate family has had the opportunity to travel. I had this same opportunity in 2020, but COVID snatched it away from me. Now opportunity has knocked again, and the only thing standing in my way of walking through that door is funding. I don't want anything to stop me this time. My band director has emphasized how great of an educational opportunity this will be and I would love to be able to join my fellow band members. Most of you know that my mother has delicate health issues and unfortunately, her disability income will not allow for her to be able to pay for the trip. She has cried and continues to apologize to me, but I know it's not her fault. It bothers me to see her stress, so I want to do whatever I can for her and myself. I have been trying to save money, but because of school, I can't work enough to save as much as I need in the time frame I need. Again, I don't want ANYTHING to hinder me from this opportunity, so I am asking for your help.
