Furral Fund II

Donation protected
Hello! We clearly need to continue the work with the Furral Fund work, which includes medical care and updating vaccines for the Furrals we can handle, as well as Turnip, the Tortie that just happened to show up here this week.

Clearly our work is never done.

Thank you to everyone who has made this program a success so far and who have added to the quality of the lives of these kitties!

For those who are unfamiliar with the problem here, the story I had on our original fundraiser is below. With the help of the community here, and our Furral Friends, we manage to home 28 cats and kittens (some of which we spayed/neutered before they were adopted) and spayed/neutered 27 additional cats that are now our permanent residents here. All since Spring of 2023.

We went an entire year (and a week!) with NO MORE STINKY KITTENS born, until little Tater showed up in our driveway on September 19. We did not know where she came from at the time, but I suspect the little lady I trapped tonight is the answer.

Please share our post if possible!

The story starts with an owner who had four unfixed pet cats that they abandoned when they moved. Over the span of several years four cats became many, many cats.
Some of them are very, very feral. Others are very sweet and love human attention. 7 of them live on my porch in in the front yard (all are now fixed). They get food, shelter and medical care. There is another, larger group that lives down the hill and around a neighbors house. These are the cats we are now trying to spay and neuter (and find homes for the young ones) and vaccinate.
Since March of 2020, 13 adults have been fixed and vaccinated, and one of those even scored an indoor home where he is now a fluffy couch potato! 15 kittens have been removed from the wild and homed (and hopefully more very soon).
6 of the desexing procedures happened this past weekend, and I have three additional spays coming up in December. The informal Furral Fund from this summer paid for treatment for the 4 kittens this summer and one adult neuter, the excess of that fundraising covers only part of the recent costs. Folks have been very, very generous in donations of food, additional cat shelters, and the previously mentioned medical care. I hate to ask for more but I also want to cover fully cover the recent procedures and also those incurred next week, and to have enough to work with before spring to try to round up at least the other two females that I know about. Any additional funds will go directly to care for these cats, whether it is medical care, food or upgrading the shelter for those that live down the hill.
