My name is Jess and I’m a dedicated single mom to 4 furbabies. I’ve spent the majority of my career caring for other people’s furchildren as a groomer and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The bonds and community that comes from being a passionate pet professional and all around dog lover has been the most rewarding thing in my life.

Just days ago, we relocated to FL so we can stay together while I undergo Surgery and Cancer treatments at The Mayo. In the midst of all that, Ozzy (my eldest Pup) also grew two lumps on his neck and side that the Vet is recommending we remove. Both of us are about to undergo some surgery and treatment that will require recovery time and a lot of support. Both mentally/emotionally/physically and Monetarily.

Luckily my mom lives close enough to Jacksonville that we have a place to be and a support system, but getting here was definitely a challenge. It’s caused a lot of stress as well as debt. We’re settling into our new home slowly and getting used to the weather and culture shock. But we could use your help to reduce that stress and allow us to relax more while we heal.

I’ve been on my own and paying all my own bills since I was 17 years old, so asking for help has been difficult, but also so rewarding and humbling.

Until I can get myself and my babies settled, my budget for dog/cat food, my phone bill, insurance, groceries, and other day-to-day necessities is very tight. Nearly nonexistent. I find myself choosing between our health treatments, or eating and putting gas in my car.

Everything I do and everything I’ve ever done has been to give my babies the life and love they deserve. I’m fighting for my health (and now Ozzys as well) so I can be around for them and our family can stay together.

For all the fur families and animal lovers out there who know what this means to us, and all the people out there fighting a serious illness who know how hard this is to do alone—while still maintaining a career—I’m asking for your help and support. Any little bit helps and we’ll appreciate it more than I can explain.
