My name is Alex, founder of Furaha Foundation in Uganda & Furaha junior school.

First, I want to say how grateful and happy I am that my friend Adam is helping us share this story. It means a lot to me that someone is standing with us to make sure the voices of our children are heard. Thank you, Adam, for being part of this mission.

I’m not just sharing a story. I’m sharing my life.

I lost my father when I was very young, and I grew up in an orphanage. Life was not easy. There were days I didn’t know where the next meal would come from. Days when survival mattered more than dreams.

We could drink dirty water from streams and water ponds not because we wanted to, but because we had no choice. That kind of life stays with you forever. You don’t forget it.

Even as a child, I carried a promise in my heart:

IF I EVER GET A CHAMCE, I WILL CHANGE THIS STORY FOR OTHERS

Today, I am trying to do exactly that.

Through Furaha Foundation, we run Furaha Junior School and support children under our care at the orphanage in Iganga, Uganda.

At the school, we currently educate hundreds of children, many from very poor families. Some of them are orphans, others come from homes where parents cannot afford school fees, food, or basic needs. For many, the school is not just a place of learning it is also where they get their only proper meal of the day, care, and hope for a better future.

At the orphanage, we care for vulnerable children who have lost one or both parents. We provide them with shelter, guidance, and daily support, trying our best to give them a safe and stable environment. But the challenges are still very big especially when it comes to food, clean water, bedding, and basic necessities.

In the communities around us, the situation is also very difficult. Some children still drink unsafe water from ponds and streams because there is no alternative nearby. Some come to school hungry. Some struggle just to survive day by day. And every time I see that, it reminds me of my own past and it pushes me not to give up.

Right now, I am raising funds to change this reality. We are working to provide: Clean and safe water through digging and repairing broken boreholes,

I may not have everything, but I have a heart that refuses to ignore their pain. And I am asking you to stand with me.
