4/18 POST OP!!! (More pics below)
Again with the journey to Mountain View in a GD Wyoming blizzard.. it’s fine She’s home and very confused.. groggy.. exhausted.. weak.. mentally out there circling the moon on her own little planet. She received awesome, curative cold laser therapy before she left the clinic and has several different pain meds and antibiotics on board since there is some risk for a bone infection at the incision site. The cone of shame is tucked away but not needed as of yet. She will get a recheck in 2 weeks to remove her staples. Then at 8 weeks for recheck X-rays. Then one more dose of radiation at 12 weeks to make sure the plate has settled and the screws haven’t caused fractures to the tibia. She has 1 surgical plate and 6 screws ($450 worth of surgical screws ). Her incision is about 3 inches long on the inside of her right knee. She is resting comfortably. She and I will be posted up on the couch playing video games and watching Yellowjackets for the next few days. After all, she is named after a favorite Borderlands character from the video games Thank you everyone for making this possible… I’m so grateful and started ugly crying today- probably to release all this worry and stress that has built up around my life recently. I don’t have kids so she, and her siblings Tater Tot, Pickles and Remi are my babies. You guys all are at the top of my list and prayers. I am so humbled. Awesome love and support all around and good karma is coming your way no doubt. Much love from Foxy Moxxi and I. ❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍

4/17 Update: Despite pouring rain/snow and overturned semis- we made it to Mountain View. And more importantly, SHE made it through surgery like a boss. The doctor said it was routine and straight forward. He removed the tattered tendons and blown meniscus- then shaped the bones and placed the plate. I added a photo because it is a little confusing to imagine. Thank you all again for the help and good juju sent our way. I go pick her up tomorrow morning and then the real test begins… Recovery and maintaining her strict rest crucially for the next 6-8 weeks, but really 6 months long term for good bone healing and plate acceptance. I’ll post an update with pictures tomorrow too! Love you all!

4/7 Update: Surgery is on the books for April 17th but we still have a way to go. Much love to everyone who has donated so far!! **Also just to clarify because there have been some questions. Go fund me set a goal for 1/2 the needed cost which is ~1800. The total cost of the procedure and post op treatment is 3500. I need at least half the day of surgery and then will have to finance the rest with the clinic at 18% interest. A lot of people have been asking if I am putting money into this or just asking for handouts. Yes I am putting as
much of my own money into this as I can earn. 3500 is a lot of money to just come up with- on top of other life bills- which is why I started this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has helped so far! Good karma is coming your way!

Update: Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!! We are about 1/3 of the way there. Moxxi is probably not as excited as I am for surgery but we are thankful for everyone nonetheless. I am working day and night to collect what I can- selling valuables, jewelry, furniture, my time… Please keep sharing to help get us further! Thank you!

Hello friends… I have put a tremendous amount of thought into this post because, let’s face it, it’s hard to ask for help when everyone is struggling. I am swallowing all of my pride and couth, but I have no other options (Care Credit denied us and pet insurance is impossible to get after an accident occurs). I am reaching out for my little rescue fur baby, Moxxi. She had a traumatic accident resulting in two complete tares to the ligaments in her knee. Much like an ACL in a human, her knee is a very unstable, mangled mess and she needs surgery ASAP. This couldn’t have happened at a worse time, as most accidents do. The procedure is called a TPLO, and it would require shaving bone away and putting a metal plate on the upper and lower bones to stabilize the joint. The road to recovery is long and difficult- requiring physical therapy, recheck X-rays, lots of pain medicine and patience. She won’t be able to play or enjoy being a dog for 6 months- but it’s either this or I must consider putting her down for her overall long-term comfort and quality of life. I have never had kids, and anyone who knows me knows my dogs are my children. She is only 4 and has been by my side without falter through my road to sobriety and emotional balance. She has so much life ahead of her, and I promised her the day I adopted her from the shelter that she would be safe and loved. Anything helps, and my heart would be so full if I could get this procedure done soon. Donations in my name can also be made directly to the veterinary clinic if that is more comfortable. The clinic is named Castle Rock Veterinary Center located in Green River, Wyoming.

Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes! ❤️
