This lady needs no introduction, she has been a huge part of the Oceania Dayz and gaming scene for many years, and Mother to the DDU community. A humble, selfless woman who volunteers countless hours to provide us in the community with a safe place to relax and unwind.
A little bit of backstory:
February 2023 • Referred to Gynecologist for 6 months of non-stop abnormal bleeding
March 2023 • Diagnosis of Atypical Endometrial Hyperplasia (AEH)
April 2023 • First surgery for Endometrial Hyperplasia with Atypia
April to May 2023 • Four rounds of Chemotherapy injections and Mirena insertion
July 2023 • Change of Mirena, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and another biopsy
July 2023 • Complications during surgery which led to respiratory distress where she stopped breathing
October 2023 • Underwent review and scheduled follow-up surgery
November 2023 • Got COVID-19 two days prior to scheduled follow-up surgery and had to post-pone surgery until lungs had healed to have a safe surgery.
January 2024 • Finally had surgery where the biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of Stage 2 Uterine Cancer.
March 2024 • She is now soft scheduled to undergo a Hysterectomy with possible pelvic lymphadenectomy.
After treatment will also involve possible chemotherapy and radiation.
Due to complications during previous surgeries, she must undergo sleep testing and a heart ultrasound to clear her for surgery.
Funkpetal is a loving single mother of two beautiful daughters. Her recovery period means she will be unable to work and her eldest daughter (18) will be unable to work and will be taking on a carers role for her and her youngest daughter (7) during these difficult times.
All donations made will contribute to her comfort, peace of mind and support during this incredibly challenging time. Any amount given would be greatly appreciated.
