Le cheile Holycross/Ballycahill
Hello everyone!!
As Our family and close friends all know,
Martins anniversary is
coming up soon. Martin took his own life in February of 2016 leaving his family and
friends and anyone who cared about him in our community in shock! 4 years on and
our journey is still ongoing! This year we
would like to do something different! We
would like
to organise a fundraising event in aid of a
magnificent group in our local community!
let me tell you about...
Le Cheile group Holycross
Le Cheile are a volunteer group that work
to deliver Mental Health and Wellbeing
initiatives in their local area. The
committee hold events and run
programmes at no charge to the public,
these events include
· Talks by well know people who speak of their own experiences to normalise the
conversation around mental health illness
· Providing suicide first responder
training, ensuring people in the area are
confident in spotting the signs of suicidal
tendencies and addressing them with their friends and family
· Organising mindfulness and wellbeing events that concentrate on maintaining a
healthy mind
· Providing a social outlet to members of the community that may otherwise feel
isolated
The entire community provided so much
support to our family following Martin’s
passing that we will be for ever grateful.
We are organising this fundraising drive in an effort to help anyone in our locality that may be suffering as Martin did and are not sure who or where to go to for help. We
would encourage anyone who is
experiencing mental health issues to seek
help immediately! There is always
someone ready to listen, whether it is one of the almost 100 people who have
undertaken suicide first aid training in the parish, a member of the Le Cheile
committee, your G.P., a family member or
friend there is always someone that would do anything to help you heal.
Remember you are not alone and there are so many people who love and care about
you! please please reach out and look for
support. We would do anything to take
back the choices Martin made that day!
Thank you for your unbelievable support, we will forever grateful.
